Where Sugar Loaf Clothing began:

The Sugar Loaf Clothing story began in 2019, on an upland sheep and beef farm on the Sugar Loaf Mountain, near Crickhowell, Mid-Wales. Christmas of 2019, young farmer Marie wanted to surprise her now business partner Will with a gift to impress - she gave him the iconic Canterbury Harlequin Shorts as a reminder from his travels to New Zealand. Soon after, friends and family wanted a pair of the classic Canterbury Shorts – to remember their good old days of travelling around New Zealand too. Soon, Will and Marie realised that young farmers like themselves wanted more than the classic checked shirt and mole skin trousers of our older generations! We wanted the same farm clothing brands as New Zealander and Australian farmers have – practical, hard wearing  and stylish farm attire fit for field and town, and set forth to create Sugar Loaf Clothing – to deliver the best quality clothing for work and leisure from around the globe for the hard working British farmers.

Where are we now:

Will and Marie soon needed to expand their premises from the spare bedroom at Marie’s family farm, and so moved to a Will’s family beef, arable and cider farm in 2021.

The pair are continuing to expand the product range mostly driven by what the customers would like to see. So far, Sugar Loaf Clothing sells a variety of Canterbury clothing from New Zealand, authentic Brumby Work Shirts from Australia and much more.

We believe in putting our right foot first, and provide a first class service to our customers. Will and Marie both continue to work on separate farms, but are always available to reach for any query you may have.

We want to open up a shop for our local friends, family and loyal customers, and continue to bring more quality offering online to the rest of the UK.
