In 1970, Canterbury decided to save offcuts of fabric from the factory floor, sew them together to create rugby training jerseys.  Now embedded in the brands rich history, the Uglies collection continues with tradition, highlighting the quality and modernity that is Canterbury. These colourful, mismatched jerseys became a legend - made to be ugly, worn to look good.

I ordered a few shirts and they arrived a month later. The updates on the website weren’t working so I didn’t know when to expect them. I am happy with them but the colours/ patterns of the shirts are too similar to each other. Would have appreciated a greater variety. For example, the colours and pattern on the the backs of all three shirts is the same and the front is the exact same on two of them.

New Uglies jersey

I know that the uglies are ugly - but this wasn't even ironically ugly.
This is the 3rd uglies shirt that I've had - but the first long sleeve - and I have to say that I was massively disappointed in the colouring.
Huge amounts of dark grey in the material selection means that its an extremely dark / depressing / miserable looking jersey that will likely see it consigned to painting duties.
The best description is that of a schools kit that'd been chosen by a particularly sadistic and colour blind failed PE teacher.

I know that the jerseys are very much luck of the draw - and the material / construction are, as ever excellent - but the predominant grey really brings the whole thing down and would highly recommend that the use of the colour be discontinued.
